The Northwestern Wisconsin real estate market is starting another busy summer! While higher interest rates haven’t stalled our market, home sellers need to be ready for today’s value-conscious buyers. This is a matter of pricing the home correctly for its location, condition and features.
According to the recent Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers produced by the National Association of Realtors®, home condition was a top concern for buyers during 2021. In this survey, 36% of new-construction buyers said they bought a newly-built home to avoid the risk of expensive repairs.
Meanwhile, 38% Buyers who purchased previously-owned homes felt they obtained a better value for the money. These buyers were not looking for handyman projects, however. Instead, they sought updated homes that were move-in ready.
Home condition directly affects a buyer’s perception of value. The key to getting the best possible price for your Northwestern Wisconsin home is to have it in the best possible shape. Buyers are willing to pay top dollar for move-in ready, updated homes because there is less anxiety involved.
