Your Northwestern Wisconsin home search involves practical considerations, but ultimately you want a home that will make you happy. A homeowner survey conducted in 2020 by Sears revealed several things that contribute to home satisfaction and happiness. These are worth keeping in mind as you browse homes for sale!
1. Safety and security. A sense of sanctuary contributes strongly to home satisfaction.
2. Satisfaction with the home location.
3. Room to spread out within the home.
5. Usable outdoor space, whether a backyard, patio, deck or balcony.
These attributes scored highly among the 1,000 survey respondents, which included 3 generations of homeowners – Boomers, Gen-X and Millennials. Most reported success in finding a home that met the majority of their needs. As a whole, 89.9% of surveyed homeowners reported being “happy” with their homes.
For owners who were dissatisfied with their homes, the reasons included one or more of the following: noisy location, pest infestations, poor layout, lack of privacy, lack of outdoor space, or the home being too small.
Finding the ideal Northwestern Wisconsin home begins with having a good understanding of your priorities, and thinking long-term about how you will use the property. Knowing your home buying budget, and understanding what your money will buy in today’s market, will help you capitalize on good opportunities when you see them.
