Sellers of Northwestern Wisconsin real estate kept command of the market as 2022 began. The latest report from the Wisconsin Realtors Association® shows year-over-year price increases in several counties. Below are the median home prices by county for January 2022, and the approximate price increase compared to January 2021:
- Barron: $164,500, up 7.9%
- Polk: $270,000, up 35%
- Rusk: $169,000, up 13%
- St. Croix: $294,000, up 2.9%
- Dunn: $243,450, up 35%
- Eau Claire: $248,450, up 15%
This doesn’t mean you can’t find a home for less. But if you do, it won’t stay on the market for long! Home prices are rising statewide, and buyers need to be prepared for the market conditions. Keep your mortgage pre-approval updated, and be ready to act.
