Northwestern Wisconsin Real Estate Sees a Hot Start to Summer

Northwestern Wisconsin Real Estate John Flor

Summer home sales in Northwestern Wisconsin had their best start on record, according to the latest market data from the Wisconsin Realtors ® Association. The median home price in Barron County reached $265,000 in June, which is the highest median home price for Barron County during any month on record. A total of 91 Barron County homes were sold during June, averaging 35 days on market.

Rusk County median sale prices reached $184,000 in June, based on the sales of 21 homes. Homes in rural Rusk County take a bit longer to sell, averaging over 40 days on market.

Statewide, the median home price in Wisconsin reached a new high of $280,000 during June 2022.

Currently we are seeing variety in our local markets. Homes in highly-sought locations have been getting offers above list price, but other homes have shown price adjustments. There are more homes on the market compared to last summer, and higher interest rates have affected some buyers. Overall, home demand remains strong, though less frenzied.
