Thanksgiving has passed, there’s a chill in the air, and it’s time to start planning for the holiday season ahead in Chetek WI. But that doesn’t mean you need to pack your bags and head out of town to enjoy everything the holidays have to offer! Lucky for us, Chetek is filled with wonderful places to visit during the most wonderful time of the year.
Chetek Winter Resorts
Chetek has dozens of lakeside resorts and campgrounds to choose from— some of which you can find open during the winter months! Plan a weekend winter getaway that includes cabin accommodations and nearby ice fishing, snowmobiling or cross country skiing!
As your family begins to trickle in for the holidays, why not take them to the Chetek Lanes for a round of bowling? It’s an easy activity to entertain every age group and get some much needed time away from the house for a few hours!
Time & Again Antique Mall
This is one antique shop that doesn’t close during the winter months! Head out for a day of shopping to find unique gifts for everyone on your list this year. You’re sure to find something— this antique mall has over 30 dealers of antiques and collectibles!
Chetek Chain of Lakes
Our community is called the City of Lakes for a reason! Chetek’s chain of six lakes offers great opportunities for ice fishing when the weather turns cold. If you love to fish throughout the year, you’ll find excellent winter spots right here in Chetek!
The holiday season is a great time to taste all of the sweets found right here in the City of Lakes! Stop into the Chetek Bakery—who has been serving the area for more than 75 years—for holiday goodies and treats for your family and friends!
Chetek ATV and Snowmobile Trails
Did you know that Barron County has over 250 miles of groomed, well-marked snowmobile trails? Plan your winter snowmobile trip on one of the many ATV trails such as the trailhead of the 76-mile Tuscobia State Trail—an abandoned railroad bed—starting just north of Rice Lake and ending in Park Falls.
