It’s now May and Memorial Day is just around the corner. Soon Northwestern Wisconsin residents will visit the City of Lakes to spend the weekend and prepare to stay even longer during the summer months. So, where to stay?
Chetek is one of the best destinations for camping and with dozens of campgrounds, you can easily pick which best suits your needs. Many resorts in the area also have their own camping sites and facilities. As you plan your Memorial Day or summer vacations this year, consider the following places to camp in Chetek:
- Northern Exposure Resort & Campground
4 miles from downtown Chetek, Northern Exposure offers shaded lots for campers, motor homes or tents. There is boat docking right in front of the campsites and access to great fishing. - Chetek River Campground
Just one mile off of Highway 53, this campground is located on the shores of the Chetek River. You can enjoy 15 wooded acres of campsites with water and electrical hook ups, a heated swimming pool, mini golf and tube trips. - Eagle River RV Campground
Relax in true Northwoods scenery on this campground! Eagle River is not directly located on a lake, but has many within minutes, shaded sites, hiking trails and wildlife. - Narrows Resort
A year-round campground, Narrows is located on Potato Lake and features both cabins and campsites. The campground has 15 seasonal sites (May 1-May 1 season) and access to a heated shower house. - Pokegama Creek Campground
Located directly on the Chetek Chain of Lakes (Ojaski), Pokegama offers 26 seasonal campsites— perfect for a motorhome, RV or camper. Dock access and excellent fishing make this a fun getaway spot.
