Winter temperatures are still here in the City of Lakes, so why not enjoy them? Chetek Winter Fest will offer plenty of opportunities for music, games, activities and racing on February 27th!
The event, hosted by the Chetek Chamber of Commerce, will take place from 8 AM to 4 PM and all Winter Fest activities will be held in front of the beach. This year’s Winter Fest activities ($5 admission gets you into all!) will include the following:
NSSR Radar Run
Directed by National Straightline Snowmobile Racing, a radar run is a timed event where snowmobiles will race a 1,000 foot shaved-ice track. NSSR provides all of the necessities for the run, including the track, timing equipment, and more. Registration will begin at 8 AM, with racing held from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Fun Run
If you’re not into racing competitively, you can take part in the Fun Run on a separate 1000′ track.
Bikini Run
Brave the elements for a cause! Proceeds will benefit Barron County Pink Ribbon Advocacy and Bikini Run top money raisers will be crowned King or Queen of Winter Fest! To participate in the 500′ packed track run, you must have boots, gloves, tether and helmet.
Kids Games
Free games and prizes will be available for children’s activities like ice bowling, snow painting, coin hunt and mini golf. There will also be a sledding hill and ice skating rink.
Pancake Breakfast
Winter Fest is about more than just snowmobile racing! There will be great food to enjoy, like the all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7 AM to 11 AM at the Chetek Pool Hall. Prices are $6 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under and FREE for ages 5 and under.
Soup Cook-Off
The cook-off is new to Winter Fest this year, so bring your best soup! Participants must make a minimum of 6 quarts and all ingredients must be cut small enough for a 4oz. portion cup. Tasting is FREE this year and serving will begin at 3 PM. Vote for your favorite soup to be crowned People’s Choice and see who the judges award Best of the Fest.
