Northwestern Wisconsin home prices moved higher in early 2025, according to the latest data by Wisconsin REALTORS©. Statewide, the median home sale price was $304,000 during February 2025, marking a 10.5% increase in home prices compared to February 2024.

In Barron County, the median home sale price was $275,000 in February, which is a 10% increase from February 2024. This is also the highest median price of any February on record. So far, 2025 is shaping up to be another year of home price growth in Barron County, despite mortgage interest rates remaining elevated.

In rural Rusk County, there are fewer transactions, and one or two sales can have an outsized impact on statistics. Rusk County’s median home sale price was $234,900 in February, which was 27% lower than the median sale price in February 2024.

But in January, Rusk County had a median home sale price of $329,450, which was 50% higher than January 2024! The takeaway: Rusk County home sale prices are moving higher too, though the monthly statistics have wide variety.

Overall, home demand remains strong in Northwestern Wisconsin. Several properties sold for more than the asking price during February. However, homes are averaging 122 days to sell in Barron County, and 191 days to sell in Rusk County. At the same time, home inventory is growing, giving buyers more options to choose from.
