Northwestern Wisconsin real estate ended 2023 with sales price records, according to data from the Wisconsin REALTORS© Association. Here’s the latest market update!

Barron County’s median home price was $260,000 in December 2023, a new high for any December on record. On an annualized basis, the median home price for 2023 was a record $250,000.

Rusk County’s median home price was a record $276,000 in December. When adjusted for the entire year, Rusk County’s median home price was $189,000, another new high.

Looking at early data for January 2024, the inventory of Barron County homes for sale increased by 13.7%. The median list price of a Barron County home was $253,275. Homes took a bit longer to sell during the depths of winter, averaging 70 days on market. About 15% of the properties sold for more than the asking price.

Rusk County’s home inventory increased by 10% in January, and the median list price of a home for sale was $200,000. Homes averaged 77 days on market before going under contract. About half of the properties sold for more than the asking price.
