Home Prices Reach New High in Northwestern Wisconsin

home prices northwestern wisconsin

It’s been a hot summer for Northwestern WI real estate! The median home sale price in Barron County reached $300,000 in June 2024. This is the highest median home price on record for any month. The previous high was $278,000, set in August of 2023. On average, homes for sale in Barron County took about 29 days to go under contract.

In Rusk County, the median home sale price in June 2024 was $189,000. Homes have gone under contract in about 21 days, on average.

When we see homes spending less than 30 days on the market, it indicates strong home demand. This demand may intensify during the final weeks of the summer real estate market, especially if mortgage interest rates soften.

So far, mortgage interest rates have been below 7%, on average, since early June. If the Federal Reserve relaxes their monetary policy in the near future, a drop in rates could encourage more home buyers to enter the market. It would also empower homeowners to make real estate decisions they previously put off.

If you have been waiting to buy or sell a Northwestern WI home, now’s the time to put your plan together! We offer home valuations free of charge, and we provide complete home buying and home selling guidance. There is no obligation, and never any pressure.
