Hydroflites Ice Fishing Contest, Chetek Chain of Lakes, Feb 3, 8am-2pm. Headquarters and registration at Pokegama Lakeside Cantina, 840 Banks Lane, Chetek. Cash prizes, raffles, and door prizes! Participants aged 14 years or younger can enter the kid’s contest. Food and refreshments are available at the Cantina.
Barron County Model Railroad Club Show, Cedar Mall, 2900 S. Main St., Rice Lake. Feb 10 from 10am-5pm, Feb 11 from 11am-4pm. See operating model railroad exhibits and learn about the hobby from local club members. Model train buyers and sellers on site, plus raffle prizes.
The Play That Goes Wrong, by the Barron Spotlighters, 800 Memorial Drive, Barron. This live theater performance is described as a mash-up of “Sherlock Holmes and Monty Python.” Performances run two weekends: Feb 16-18 and Feb 23-25. See the website for ticket info!
Home & Garden Show, Chippewa Valley Expo Center, 5150 Old Mill Plaza, Eau Claire. 3 big days of home improvement info, design ideas and more! Friday Feb 16 from 1pm-6pm, Saturday Feb 17 from 9 am-5pm, Sunday Feb 18 from 10am-4pm. Tickets $10 days of show, or $8 in advance. See event page for more details!
Winter Fest, Chetek, Feb 23 & 24. Vintage snowmobile ride 11am-5pm on Friday, followed by a Fire-Up party at Red’s from 6pm-9pm with music, raffles, and prizes. Saturday snowmobile races begin at 10am, with the famed Bikini Run Fundraiser at 1pm. See the website for details and registration info!
