Home sales in Northwestern Wisconsin closed summer on a high note, according to the latest data from the Wisconsin REALTORS© Association. The 18-county North Region of Wisconsin saw the highest transaction volume of the year during August 2025, with 823 properties changing hands. The median home sales price in the North Region was $301,000 during August, representing the highest median sales price of any August on record.
Barron County’s median home price was $310,000 in August. This was the highest median sale price for any August on record in Barron County, but lower than the $350,000 median price seen during July. August saw healthy transaction volume, with 119 homes sold. This is the highest transaction volume so far for Barron County in 2025.
Rusk County’s median home price during August was $201,000, with 24 transactions for the month. August home sale activity in Rusk County was in line with trends from June and July. Median home prices for the past 3 months have been ranging between $193,000 and $201,000.
Statewide, the demand for Wisconsin homes remains strong. The median sale price for a Wisconsin home was $338,000 as of August 2025. This is the highest median price for any month on record.
Meanwhile, the inventory of Northwestern Wisconsin homes for sale has seen some improvement since August, and mortgage interest rates have been trending lower. Home buyers who were sidelined by market conditions in the past should take a fresh look at today’s opportunities!
